Alcohol By Volume (ABV) is a standard measure of how much alcohol is in an alcoholic drink expressed as a percentage i.e. 40% ABV vodka is 40% alcohol.
One litre of an alcoholic drink contains the same number of units as its ABV i.e. one litre of 40% vodka has 40 units.
The units and calories given here are approximate averages for the type of drink. Mixers, such as coke and lemonade, contain calories too and so remember to add at least 50 calories for these.
